A few weeks ago I finished a stop motion animation project for Google, it was a great project to work on and lasted 3 weeks, my role was lead stop motion animator, prop maker and editor of the final film.
This short animated film is aimed at their Internal Services, to promote Women Engineers and scientists in the workplace.
The animation was of everyday objects in a Jan Svankmajer style, all based around an average Google employee's office desk. Pages of a book were animated as turning themselves, shelves moving up and down and a shoe knitting itself.....
The film hasn't been released yet, but when it is a link will be on this blog for you to look at.
In the mean time here are some photos of myself and a colleague working on the project.......

Ball and socket armature joint test...
This is the Ball and socket Armature that I made last year, it is created from Brass plate and Aluminium rod, cut to size and jointed together, the aim of this project was to make sure I used recycled materials (which I did) and to keep the costs of creating this type of armature as low as possible! This video is a test of the joints it is now fully completed and looking good, I was going to skin this armature, but I think it looks beautiful as it is ..
The completed Armature in all its beauty...

Stop motion Pull
This was one of the first animations I made at University, in my first year and im still rather proud of it, brings back lots of fond memories! this was also the time I realized that 2D Flash and stop motion animation were my favourite mediums to work in. >_< as you can see from the video I also discovered the legendary Jan Svankmajer and tried to incorporate his surrealistic head movements into this animation, lots of head rolling indeed!
